Updated Mar 14, 2026A travel advisory was issued for Hawaii airports including Kahului on March 11, 2026 due to severe weather conditions statewide. The Hawaii Department of Transportation advised travelers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to transpacific flights and check flight status before heading to the airport.
Aero, the by-the-seat private airline, announced an extension of its scheduled service between Van Nuys Airport and Kahului Airport through August 2, 2026. Originally launched in November 2025 due to strong demand, tickets start at $5,995 one-way on the Gulfstream IV-SP with seating for 10 passengers.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation selected and welcomed International Shoppes (iShoppes) to provide retail and in-bond duty free concessions at Kahului Airport. The announcement was made on February 10, 2026.
